Committed to and experienced with sustainable building
Rogers-O’Brien Construction is committed to energy conservation and the reduction of dependence on fossil fuels. To this end, we have implemented a company-wide program of sustainability and green build technologies.
Rogers-O’Brien Construction is always on the lookout for the newest innovations in sustainability. We have spent a great deal of time researching recycling facilities, green building methods, recycled materials and regional materials so that our estimators and project staff have a quick reference guide to help them achieve their goals on all sustainable buildings.
Rogers-O’Brien is dedicated to overall sustainability goals within our organization to minimize our environmental impact. In accordance with these goals, we have developed the following Green Building Team objectives.
- Recycling: Initiated a program for recycling on all of our projects whether required or not.
- LEED Training: We provide in-house training to promote LEED accreditation for new and existing employees.
- Continuing Education Program: We offer continuing education programs for our employees, their families, and others outside our offices.
- Recycling Program: We have implemented a company-wide recycling program which includes our Dallas headquarters, our Austin office, and all jobsite locations.
- Case Study: We perform case studies on all of our LEED certified and green build projects in order to ascertain that the individual project goals have been met and/or exceeded. By providing a more thorough analysis of a project, we are able to reveal areas of potential improvement – lessons learned - and specifically target ways to enhance our processes and carry them forward to future projects.
- Inner-Office Consumables: We use our purchasing power to promote green products for all inner-office consumables.
In both our Austin and Dallas offices, Rogers-O’Brien LEED Accredited Professionals are knowledgeable in overall sustainability and green building technologies, as well as current LEED programs, such as: New Construction; Commercial Interiors; Core & Shell; Schools; Retail; Healthcare; and Existing Buildings-Operations and Maintenance. Rogers-O’Brien currently has over 21 LEED accredited employees.
Our managers and supervisory personnel routinely practice the philosophy and methodologies of sustainability in building design and construction. Many of our people have worked on sustainable-design buildings and are well versed in the requirements of the U.S. Green Building Council LEED Rating System as well as local Green Building Programs. We are familiar with the duties and documentation of the General Contractor, and have knowledge of systems and materials that may help you achieve extra LEED and local jurisdictional green building points.
To help you achieve the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED™) level and/or local green building rating you desire, Rogers-O’Brien LEED accredited professionals will review plans and specifications, attend green building charrettes, and provide detailed suggestions and support.
